05/14/06: Day 1: St. Louis to Hays, Kansas
It was a dreary and drizzly day in St. Louis as we packed and prepared and loaded, and so on, until 1:30 p.m.
Finally, we got on the road and drove. We got out from under the clouds just in time to have the merciless sun slowly settling toward the horizon in front of us at about 8:30. We pulled into the Days Inn in Hays just before 10:00. Yes, they have WiFi, an amenity I've come to expect.
