The wall of the extended dining room here has a mural of Ashville, NC area features. The gent at the table next to ours gave us a quick overview.

Heading up the Chimney Rock Road we notice many creative scarecrows. Well, Luretourists, actually.

We just had to stop in Bat Cave, NC for the apples and flannel shirts.

Behind the Bat Cave store, there is an attractive nuisance (a rushing river) and plenty of warnings not to enjoy it.

The National Parks are closed, but Chimney Rock is a state park. They wanted $30 to get in and the AAA says to allow at least an hour. We didn't have the time, so I took a couple of pictures from across the road in the town of Chimney Rock

This site in Chimney Rock State Park is billed as the tallest waterfall in this end of the country. Again, seen with a long lens from down in the town.

Using the Coffee Finder app we found the Lily Bean, a little way off of the highway down from Bat Cave and Chimney Rock. Here I show up at what I was looking, for those who saw my FaceBook check-in.
