10/07/17: Day 8: A day of recovery in Laughlin
As mentioned last night, we got a room in Laughlin, NV a couple of hundred feet above the Colorado River, Karen stares east across the river at Arizona. I needed a couple of days to rest, and did spend most of the day sleeping. But occasionally enjoyed the view from above.

Karen coaxed me out of our room to go for a short walk along the river, and then to dinner.

Clouds of gnats were a minor nuisance on our evening walk. Anyone else weirded out by the juxtaposition of the Colorado river and palm trees?

For dinner, we stayed in the hotel-casino. Mexican food. And the frozen marguritas that are free for sitting at penny slots were quite good. If I can recall.

Short caption: "Waning gibbous rising, cut by a chord of Arizona mountains."When we checked in to the Laughlin Riverside Resort we were pleased that low budget room 2113 faced the Colorado River from a couple of hundred feet up. As we lugged our load up into the room, the moon was just rising over the Arizona mountains in the east.Mostly slept and recovered for the day we spent there. But after a Mexican themed meal with free Margaritas in a tiny themed restaurant/casino downstairs, and a nice walk along the river, we went up to our room to watch the moon rise.I looked up the time for Laughlin moonrise, and it said 7:58. We watched. Nothing. But at 8:10 Karen Spotted a glow over the mountains. I opened our dirty double glazed window wide. Well to the allowed four inches. Enough to slip the camera through. And took a few shots of the moon rising over the mountains. Here's one of them.
