11/02/22: Planning the trip
We looked over our map of previous trips, and set a preliminary plan for this one. The basic idea is to head west, go up the Million Dollar Highway along the San Juans, and then head over to Capitol Reef.

Weather forecast for the first day of travel. Rainfall from the evening before departure to about sunset on the first day. We're looking at driving through some rain across Kansas.
