11/09/22: Day 6: Resting up for a day
Because of the weather all around us (blizzard warnings) we spent 2 nights and a day in a Best Western below 5000' near Grand Junction, Colorado. Some shopping, dining out, and mostly taking it easy.
Sadly, the hot tub died before Karen got a chance to use it. We had chosen this resort for that particular amenity. Oh, well.
Morning in Clifton, CO. The view from our room is of the other half of the Grande River Inn and Suites. "Courtyard View." But out the lobby door, there is some scenery.

We are hunkering down here for the day in the lowlands to avoid the snow storms happening above, all around us. The day brings us plenty of wind and some rain. But the dramatic sky hints at what we are missing.

Across from our hotel there is a strip mall. We needed a new window cleaner, so I went shopping. People in the store were social distancing, but not masking.

After my auto parts stop, I called Karen to come join me at the strip mall. This is a dollar store we browsed. Squeeze the chicken for service was a new one, for me.

I took a selfie while we waited for a light. Karen took a picture of me taking a selfie. So I sneaked one of her taking one of me.

Dos Hombres was our choice for lunch, of the options at the strip mall across from the hotel. As many big meals as we've been eating, I actually lost weight on this trip.

After the big meal, we settled in for the evening. I spent some time finally posting one day of our trip: Yesterday, Day 5.
