Joe took this picture of the balloon that lifts the Cosmic-Ray detector up to 100,000 feet, as it was being filled with helium. Notice the semi-truck of helium tanks on the left for scale. At full altitude, it expanded to 100 meters in diameter (a football field across, or a half-million cubic meters).
